Adhesive Label Paper Features and Material Selection
For the right print result, choosing a material suited to the surface and environment where the label will be used is critical:
- Coated Labels: The most popular economical paper-based label, with a glossy, smooth surface. Ideal for indoor product packaging and box labels.
- Uncoated Labels: Has a matte paper surface that's easy to write on with a ballpoint pen or pencil. Preferred for shipping and date labels.
- White Opaque (PP) Labels: Thanks to its plastic base, it absolutely won't tear. 100% resistant to water, moisture, oil and ice; perfect for cosmetics, liquid soap and cold chain products.
- Clear Labels: With its transparent plastic structure, it shows the color of the surface it's applied to. Offers a luxurious look on glass jars and clear packaging.
- Vinyl Labels (Outdoor): Made from PVC vinyl. Offers maximum durability against sunlight (UV), moisture and harsh weather.
- Kraft Labels: Projects an eco-friendly image with its natural brown tone and texture. Preferred for organic and handmade product packaging.
- Blockout (Opaque-Backed) Labels: Thanks to the dark coating on the back, it fully covers old graphics or incorrect information on the surface underneath.
What to Consider Before Label / Sticker Printing
- Color and Format: Your designs should be prepared at a resolution of at least 300 DPI in CMYK. For clear readability, keep font sizes at a minimum of 6.5–7 pt.
- Bleed and Cutting: To prevent die shifts, leave a 3 mm bleed on each edge of the design. Avoid designs with thin borders.
- Custom Cut (Die-Cut): For custom-shaped cuts, the cut line should be drawn as a vector on a separate layer in a distinct spot color (100% Magenta).
- Clear and Kraft Warning: On clear and kraft bases, light colors can blend into the base color, so use high-contrast dark colors in your designs.

Evet.
